364 people came to Benedictine University to “Send-off” our 29 seminarians for another year of studies, discernment and spiritual awakening. 12 of the men are beginning their first year as seminarians.

Family members and friends of the seminarians were joined by three bishops, including Bishop Daniel Conlon, numerous priests and other members of the diocese in celebrating these men as they discern their Christian calling from our Lord.

The afternoon began with an hour of socializing followed by dinner. After dinner, Ed Graham, President of Serra Club, introduced Steve and Debbie Pawlowicz who spoke about what it’s like being a parent of a seminarian. Then, Fr. Burke Masters, Director of Vocations, introduced the seminarians who each spoke briefly. This was followed by some determined and encouraging words regarding vocations from Bishop Conlon. Before Bishop Conlon ended the gathering with Benediction, Ed Graham thanked the monks of St. Procopius Abbey and Benedictine University for providing a venue for the Send-off for 37 years. He also identified the Serra members who worked on organizing the event.

The afternoon was full of spirit, energy and goodwill. It was wonderful!

Remember our seminarians in your prayers.
